Program Approval
NASP is one of the specialized professional associations (SPAs) of the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and conducts program reviews as a part of the CAEP educator preparation provider accreditation process. CAEP accredits such "providers" (e.g., Schools of Education), not programs, yet provides "national recognition" status (full or with conditions) to NASP-approved programs in CAEP-accredited institutions.
Program Approval Review Process
The process for program review and approval for programs in CAEP-accredited units follows a different process than those in non-CAEP-accredited units. Programs in non-CAEP units should refer to the program accreditation page.
