School Safety and Crisis

NASP has made these resources available to the public in order to support schools’ efforts to promote school safety and the ability of children and youth to cope with crisis events. You may use the school safety and crisis documents on this webpage solely for educational, non-commercial use, provided you do not remove any trademark, copyright or other notice contained in such document. Additionally, schools may adapt content from topical handouts resources as long as the integrity of the content is maintained and NASP is given proper credit. No other use is permitted unless otherwise expressly permitted by NASP.

Policy Priorities

School psychologists are uniquely positioned to advocate for evidence-based initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels, which create safe and supportive learning environments that naturally prevent violence and ensure that students have access to the supports they need to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom.
