There are 2 package options available for registration:

  • Package 1: Advocacy Academy—Full Course (8.75 hours CPD) - Register HERE

Description: The full-course option is intended for school psychologists who have not previously participated in a NASP Public Policy Institute or the virtual 2021 Advocacy Academy. These sessions will include instruction in foundational knowledge addressing public policy, legislative advocacy, and grassroots advocacy, as well as sessions exploring the topical theme of the Advocacy Academy.

Package 1 includes:

  • Pre-Academy Modules (3.5 hours NASP Approved CPD)—asynchronous virtual learning)
  • Live Academy CPD Modules (5.25 hours NASP Approved CPD)—synchronous virtual learning)
  • Live Academy Non-CPD Sessions
  • Virtual Capitol Hill Day Experience
  • Course Materials including access to the 2022 Original U.S. Congress Handbook (Online Edition)

  • Package 2: Advocacy Academy—Live Academy Only and Capitol Hill Day (5.25 hours NASP Approved CPD) - Register HERE

Description: This package is only available to people who have previously completed the NASP Public Policy Institute (between 2010-2019) or the 2021 Advocacy Academy (Full Course).  Registrants will be required to sign an affidavit attesting to completion of the prerequisite, which is subject to verification. These sessions will focus on content instruction and discussions related to the topical theme of the Advocacy Academy.

  • Live Academy Modules (5.25 hours NASP Approved CPD)
  • Live Academy Non-CPD Sessions
  • Virtual Capitol Hill Day Experience
  • Course Materials including access to the 2022 Original U.S. Congress Handbook (Online Edition)

Registration closes at 11:59pm on July 12 for both packages. The first live session starts at 6:00pm on July 13.

Accessing Course Materials

  • Links to all Live CPD sessions and Pre-Academy Recorded Sessions will be accessible in MY PRODUCTS after logging into the Online Learning Center (OLC).
  • Pre-academy recorded sessions will be available to begin reviewing no later than May 9, 2022. Participants will be notified by email when the materials are ready for use.
  • Links to all Live Non-CPD sessions will be available in the MASTER AGENDA which is accessible in MY PRODUCTS after logging into the Online Learning Center (OLC).

Refund Policy

There are no refunds for products purchased through the online learning center. All LIVE CPD sessions and the Pre-Academy sessions will be recorded and available in the Online Learning Center for a minimum of 120 days following the last live broadcast.   The LIVE CPD session recordings will be available approximately 1 week after the original broadcast. The non-CPD live sessions will not be recorded.

Participant Preparation for the Academy

  • Preregistration will be required. All participants coming from a state will be considered a “state team” member. States will be organized into a region with NASP Government and Professional Relations (GPR) committee members assigned to support each region.
  • State teams will coordinate with each other to set up virtual teleconference meetings with two U.S. Senators and the U.S. House of Representative members representing the districts in which Advocacy Academy participants reside.
  • All participants will be provided a script and specific instructions for reaching out to offices to set up meetings.
  • All participants will be provided the basic “Capitol Hill Talking Points” in advance of the academy and advocacy action day. These materials will be reviewed during the academy.
  • All participants will be expected to complete the 3.5-hour CPD pre-academy grassroots advocacy module prior to July 13.
