Now that the furor over the publication of B. F. Skinner’s new book, Beyond Freedom and Digwity, is dying down, it may be possible to examine the implications of this major work from some different perspectives. It appears that the detailed points of the behaviorist position were largely overlooked in the critical shock created by Skinner’s sweeping conclusions and proposals.
