The Counselor as a Consultant in Organization Development

pp. 16—19

Although this article is written to counselors, it is just as relevant to school psychologists. Perhaps the counselor’s role as organizational specialist would be within a building while the school psychologist’s parallel role as an organizational development specialist would be working within a school district; however, both professional groups have emphasized the mental health areas as their province. At the same time, conflicting roleconceptions and diverse expectations from students, colleagues and administrators reduce the interpersonal effectiveness of the counselor and the school psychologist.
