The Developmental Profile II (Alpern, Boll, & Shearer, 1980) is an inventory of skills designed to assess a child’s development from birth through nine years. The 186 items of the instrument are distributed across five developmental scales and are arranged by age levels. The age levels proceed at 6-month intervals from birth to 4 years and atone-year intervals thereafter. Independent developmental indices are yielded in the areas of motor, self-help, social, academic, and communication functioning. A ratio Intelligence Quotient Equivalent (IQE) is obtainable from the Academic Scale.
