An Approach to Implementing IEP Evaluation in Public Schools

ABSTRACT: Facilitating the implementation of educational programs and procedures in public schools can be a complex endeavor. Numerous organizational factors may need to be considered when attempting to assure that a program or procedure is implemented as planned. In this regard, a need has been expressed for organizational interventions designed to facilitate the implementation task. In this paper, an organizational intervention, the DURABLE Approach, that is designed to facilitate implementation of IEP evaluation, is presented.Discussion occurs within the context of the need for school psychologists to become actively involved in organizational-level matters in schools, such as facilitating program implementation.
