The Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised (PPVT-R) has been designed by Lloyd M.Dunn and Leota M. Dunn (American Guidance Service, 1981). The primary purpose of the PPVT-R is “to measure a subject’s receptive (hearing) vocabulary for Standard American English.” The test is untimed, consists of two parallel forms (L and M) and is individually administered.Testing time varies from approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The subject is not required to do any reading, or make any oral or written response. The PPVT-R is designed for use with subjects in the age range of Z1/2 to 40 years. The examiner is not required to do any extensive specialized preparation.
