Preventive and Educative Programs Within the High School

pp. 399—408

ABSTRACT: The roles and responsibilities of school psychologists have been increasing in recent years to include more than traditional psychometrics. Currently, the educational community’s concern with sex, drug, and vocational/career education has prompted school psychologists to take part in these areas. This article reviews the literature on (a) sex education, (b) drug education, (c) vocational/career education, and (d) psychology courses for high school students. The review was especially concerned with programs that have involvement by school psychologists;however, this involvement is practically nonexistent.
