Special Education Programs for the Handicapped Adolescent

ABSTRACT: Special education for handicapped adolescents is discussed within the framework of four developmental-educational goals. Learning competence, social participation,community participation, and career preparation are areas in which handicapped adolescents need to receive instruction. School programs and interventions directed toward these goals are described.
