On Coming of Age Among the Professions
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredibility, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair....”YOU remember, I am sure, those opening lines from Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities. Without intending any substantive parallels, I suggest that they constitute a good characterization of the current state of affairs of the nation, and of ours as educators and as a community of psychologists.
