An item in the Winter 1979-80 issue of Developments indicated that James Gallagher will serve as the chief editor for a new quarterly journal on exceptional children. The journal, New Directions for Exceptional Children will be organized around selected themes with each issue edited by a specialist on the selected topic. The first issue deals with “The Ecology of the Exceptional Child,” and the next four issues will be related to language, patterns of development,parenting and work.
