School Psychology: The Post Larry P. Era
Jack I. Bardon
THE TIME: 1987, Scene I: The National Association of School Psychologists Delegate Assembly is in emergency session. The sixteen states represented are those in which state department of education certification of school psychologists still exists. The NASP Executive Board considered inviting representatives from the Division of School Psychology of the American Psychological Association to participate in the meeting only to learn that APA plans to reorganize Division 16 into the Division of Psychologists Interested in Schools. The proposals under consideration at this Delegate Assembly meeting are either to inform the 700 members remaining in the Association that NASP will disband at the end of the year or to request affiliate status with the recently formed and very powerful National Association of Learning Disability Specialists.
