School Psychology, Special Education, and Program Evaluation: Ethical and Professional Concerns

ABSTRACT: The ethical and professional concerns which impact on program evaluation activities of school psychology and special education services are presented. Emerging professional standards for evaluating educational programs are presented and reviewed through the use of “evaluation scenarios.” Each scenario depicts an evaluation activity which is critiqued against the evaluation standards. Finally, program evaluation activities are considered through a delineation of general foundations which impact on evaluation activities of school psychological and special education services.
