A School Psychologist as Coordinator of a Learning Center in an Oklahoma Vocationa/Technical School

Central Oklahoma Area Vocational/Technical School is one of 20 under the direction of the State Department of Vocational/Technical Education. State funding was provided to develop this pilot project for learning centers for special needs students. This article was designed to describe how a trained school psychologist,with a background in vocational education, utilized skills acquired in both areas to develop materials, instructional methodologies,and assessment strategies to facilitate the vocational education of students with special learning needs. The vocational school psychologist was employed as Coordinator of The Vocational Learning Center during its second school year of operation(1976–77).
