Affective Ed - Supermarket Style… An assortment of structured and not-so-structured activities, systems and courses is burgeoning in the schools under the banner of affective education … The field is amorphous, the goals and objectives unmeasurable, the rhetoric often incomprehensible. Nonetheless, major publishing houses are jumping in with basal programs,institutes with highfalutin’ names are charging fancy prices to train teachers in new techniques, and 225 ETV stations are reaching five million grade school children with NIT’s low-keyed affective series, Inside/Out. “No doubt about it. In the last two years, it’s become the thing to do,” said an ESEA Title III administrator.
