Affective education is alive and well! It weathered the “Sputnik” pressures of the late 50's, the backlash from the abuses of encounter groups and sensitivity training in the late 60's and early 70's, and it will weather the narrowest of the “Back to the Basics” drives now sweeping the country. There are few among the well educated who do not recognize human functioning as an almost inseparable blend of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor components.
