The concept of utilizing consultation services for solving special problems in schools is not new. During the past twenty years many school corporations have provided individualized psychological and sociological help to students with special needs.Traditionally, these consultative services were provided by specialists who were not permanent members of the organization in which they were providing the help. Therefore much of their consultative work was crisis oriented and temporary.
