Provision of School Psychological Services
These standards represent a comprehensive statement by the National Association of School Psychologists in regard to criteria for determining the adequacy of the policies, organization, staff characteristics, procedures, and delivery of school psychological services in the United States and Canada. The formally adopted policies of 32 state and 8 provincial educational agencies governing the practice of school psychological services were reviewed and wherever possible were incorporated in these standards. The philosophy and principles contained herein thus represent the combined thinking of school psychologists, educators, and the general public across the North American continent at this time, and therefore are deemed feasible and reasonable statements of appropriate standards for the provision of school psychological services.
