Examining the Cultural Context of Consultation

Abstract: The articles in this mini-series present a conceptual model of multicultural consultation, advance the study of culture in school psychology inquiry, ground consultation inquiry in naturalistic paradigms, and contribute to our understanding of cross-cultural consultation competencies important to the successful delivery of consultation services.They also offer examples of the complex issues and challenges that consultants face when working to create a culturally inclusive environment during consultation. The major themes addressed by the articles are discussed and commonalities that emerged across articles in cross-cultural consultation competencies are explored.
