Commentary on Sheridan and Gutkin: Unfinished Business

Sheridan and Gutkin (2000) illuminate one of the new paradigms for practice that has arisen in the past 25 years, articulately presenting the case for and describing the ecological model of practice, which I support as well. They decry the slow progress toward this practice paradigm and recommend increasing our advocacy for it.Actually, the ecological paradigm has grown in influence enough to create a rift between those ascribing to the traditional medical model and the ecological model (e.g., Short, 2000).
