Rejoinder to "... Myths of Black Cultural Learning Styles" in Defense of Afrocentric Scholarship
Janice E. Hale
The article by Craig Frisby (this issue) seems to be an attempt to throw a shovel full of dirt on the work of 10 African- American scholars sincerely attempting to address the alarming statistics on the low achievement of African-American youths. It is with reluctance that I feel I must examine the motivations behind this effort because this should be a scholarly dialogue. However, I must admit some difficulty in responding given that the scholarly tone and the language of the article is likely to make one react defensively.
