The major objective of this presentation is to provide the reader with essential information necessary to understanding the current status of professional school psychology. Specifically, integrated data will be presented in two areas: graduate training in school psychology and the credentialing of school psychologists. A third area, that of program accreditation will be discussed in terms of its influence on training and certification models. The training and accreditation standards contained throughout this volume reflect, in part, the current knowledge of the National Association of School Psychologists with regard to the areas specified above.
