Welcome to Communiqué Online. The May issue is really exciting!

We have four terrific articles on multicultural competence this month: few issues are more important to school psychologists as we attempt to keep pace and remain effective with the changing demographics of our country. We also offer two more installments in our series on positive psychology in the schools with Karen Reivich and Terry Molony discussing how promoting optimism in students can lead to multiple beneficial outcomes. Actually, everyone should be able to find something that appeals to them in this issue: book reviews, Tech Corner, articles on supervision, positive psychology, child abuse, ESEA/NCLB, crisis management, and ethics.

And, of course, please read about Phil Lazarus and Ron Benner and join me in congratulating them as they prepare to take on their new roles as president-elect and treasurer!
