NASP Starts Election Cycle in October
By Charles Deupree, NCSP Chair, Nominations and Elections
The NASP elections are entering the annual process that will determine who will be the next leaders of NASP. This year, the membership in 17 states will elect their own state delegates and the entire membership is eligible to choose our next president-elect and secretary.
The list below names those NASP members who have indicated that they wish to be nominated for President-Elect, Secretary, or Delegate. The 2008 Primary (Nominations) election will begin in Oct– ober 2007. Any member as of September 1, 2007 is eligible to nominate any NASP member (although it is always a good idea to be sure they are willing to run). In each state or officer race there will be a place where you may write in a candidate, or you may choose one of the members who have already indicated their interest in seeking nominations. Write-in candidates must receive at least three votes and emerge as one of the top two nominees in order to be placed on the ballot in January. In order to complete the election in time for our national convention, the election has been moved up to January 2008.
Members should look for information about each candidate online on the NASP website and in the October Communiqué. Good luck to all of the candidates.
