John Kelly (NY)
John Kelly, the 2003 NASP School Psychologist of the Year, will continue on the NASP Board of Directors as President-Elect. He has a long history of school psychology leadership at the local, state, and national levels. Most recently John has been NASP GPR chair and is currently a member of the Board of Directors as the Strategic Liaison for Professional Development. He also has had numerous leadership positions on the NYASP and Suffolk County Psychological Association Boards. John obtained his MA in School Psychology in 1985 from Hofstra University, followed by his PhD in 1988. He has been a school psychologist for the Commack (NY) Public School District since 1986. John's service to the profession is extensive, and his leadership skills are well documented. He looks forward to taking the next step up the leadership ladder. NASP elections will be held from January 6 to January 27, 2016. Members will be sent e-mail reminders to vote online or to request a paper ballot.
Leslie Paige (KS)
Leslie Paige, the NASP 1996 School Psychologist of the Year, has been elected as Treasurer for the second time (the first was 2004-2007). She is currently the Secretary and will change jobs on the Board of Directors in July. Leslie has had a lengthy career in NASP leadership starting in 1994 as the Kansas Delegate. She has chaired the Publications Board; has cochaired several committees including Professional Development, Ethics, and Awards; and has chaired the Leadership Development Committee. She was a member of the PREPaRE workgroup and a member of the 1996-97 and 2005-2009 Strategic Planning Committees.
Her involvement with Kansas state association leadership started in 1981, and she has chaired the Nominations and Elections, Membership, Publications, and the Education Reform Committees and has served as KASP President.
NASP is in great hands with these outstanding leaders ready to serve our association at the highest levels.
Additionally, 17 new delegates were elected and will begin their terms on July 1, 2016. Congratulations to all of the new leaders.
