MS085: Assessment for Intervention in SLD Referrals Using the Cross-Battery Approach

This mini-skills session will present the available research on the relations among cognitive abilities, neuropsychological processes, and specific academic skills. Participants will be taught how to use diagnostic cross-battery worksheets to record existing data, gather missing data, and link findings from cross-battery assessments to specific, evidence-based educational strategies and interventions. It is expected that participants will acquire skills to guide their assessments of students referred for suspected learning disabilities, whenever a comprehensive evaluation is warranted.
