MS070: Know Thyself: Examining Personal Bias in School Psychological Practice

Description:

This mini-skills session will facilitate participants’ awareness about their own ethnicity as well as to explore personal attitudes/beliefs, including biases and stereotypes and how these biases may hinder effective cultural service delivery. Reflective dialogue is the primary method that will be used to explore self-awareness. Participants will engage in activities designed to increase awareness of self-identity and salient cultural characteristics and examine sources of personal bias and its impact on school psychological practice.
