MS066: Managing Difficult Behavior: A Professsional Development Model for Safe Schools

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 10:00 AM–11:50 AM

Description:

Challenging behaviors are the language students use to communicate when demands of their environment are misaligned with their social, emotional, or adaptive capacities. This practioner led session will introduce a professional development model that helps schools increase teacher satisfaction and engage students by preparing educators for the daily challenges of managing a classroom: building relationships with students, structuring productive environments, coaching social and emotional skills, and actively intervening as needed.
