MS042: Development of Comprehensive Suicide Prevention and Risk Assessment Procedures

Thursday, February 20, 2014 2:00 PM–3:50 PM

The purpose of this presentation is to provide research-based information on the development and implementation of suicide prevention procedures in schools. Three steps will be discussed: education of peers and adults to increase identification, school-based assessment of suicide risk, and development of interventions that target protective factors against suicide. Attendees will benefit by obtaining information, with realistic guidance on translation into practice, regarding identification, assessment, and intervention planning for students at risk of suicide.
