SY001: Processing Assessment Using the Cognitive Assessment System CAS Second Edition

Measuring basic psychological processes has become very important in recent years as an alternative to traditional IQ/achievement discrepancy for eligibility determination, a way to fairly assess minorities, and for instructional planning. This symposium will provide practical information about the use of the Cognitive Assessment System Second Edition (CAS2), CAS2 Brief, and CAS2 Rating Scales (Naglieri, Das & Goldstein, 2014) in the schools. Case studies, emphasis on fair assessment, SLD determination, and intervention will be covered.
