PO020: Decreasing Problem Behavior using Social Stories for Adolescents with Autism


The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a Social Stories intervention on three high-school adolescents with Autism. Individualized social stories were developed, and direct observations of the participants’ target behavior were recorded three times per week for 10 weeks. Results indicated decreases in problem behaviors from all participants. Practitioners will discover how using Social Stories can be beneficial when working with students with Autism.
