WS042: Evidence-Based Interventions for Students With Memory Problems

This workshop, will use case studies, discussion, and videos to cover the following topics applicable to K–12: working memory, cognitive load theory, long-term memory systems and processes, relationships between memory and academic learning, neuroanatomy of memory, hippocampus functions, risk factors, memory dysfunctions and disorders, metamemory and strategy development, evidence-based exercises and strategies, and instructional approaches that enhance memory. Learner objectives include increased knowledge and skills for identifying memory systems and structures, identifying at-risk populations, and implementing evidence-based strategies.
