WS019: Assessment of English Language Learners—Intermediate

Participants should be familiar with the evaluation of diverse learners, understand how cultural and linguistic factors interact with test performance, and have knowledge regarding evaluation methods typically used with diverse populations. Using lecture, demonstration, and guided case study examples, this workshop will provide instruction in applying research in evaluating test score validity, use of the Culture-Language Interpretive Matrix for this purpose, and guidance on a two-step approach that incorporates evidence-based procedures and supports nondiscriminatory evaluation.
