PO004: Examining Executive Functioning and Academic Achievement in Salvadoran Children

The results of a study that examined the impact of executive functioning skills on Salvadoran bilingual children’s reading and mathematics achievement in English will be presented. The audience will learn the extent to which reading and mathematics achievement in English were predicted by specific executive functioning skills in this particular group. School psychologists will benefit by increasing their understanding of the importance of executive functioning skills in ELLs.
