PI057: Collaborating to Educate Pre-Service Teachers on Response to Intervention

This PIE session is directly related to increasing teacher effectiveness in implementing RtI practices. Teachers are charged with implementing many aspects of RtI, yet many undergraduate teacher preparation programs fail to substantially cover RtI concepts and application during the required professional sequence courses. Participants will discuss ideas regarding how to better prepare pre-service teachers in the area of RTI. Results from research with one teacher preparation program will be shared.
