PI043: Reading Education Assistance Dogs: Exploring Literacy Programs in School Settings


With the growing emphasis on assessment and learning outcomes in public school systems, educators continue to look for supplemental programming that can assist students in meeting learning goals. R.E.A.D is a literacy support program that has the goal of improving literacy skills in students with a non-traditional intervention that includes students reading to a therapy dog. This “Participant Information Exchange” will provide an opportunity to learn more about the possible applications of Canine Assisted Education.
