PA428: A Seat At The Table...Facilitating Comprehensive Literacy Reform

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 3:30 PM–4:20 PM

Systems-level change involves opportunity and interpersonal relationships. In the spring of 2009, we were presented with both. Our local newspaper ran a series of human interest stories about the district's abysmal literacy statistics. Through previously established relationships, two psychologists were given a seat at the table to problem solve this community crisis. Participants will learn about the Accelerated Literacy Pathways model and discuss the value of relationship-building to facilitate organizational change.
