WS33: Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Interventions for Challenging Elementary Students

Thursday, February 14, 2013 8:30 AM–3:30 PM

Description:

Learn how to implement strategic (Tier 2) interventions to help students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges decrease inappropriate behavior while increasing self-management skills. Using evidence-based functional assessment principles, specific interventions are linked to seven types of challenging students to address their needs. Guided by discussion, activities, and videotape vignettes, participants will leave with a working knowledge of how and when to use up to 10 research-based Tier 2 interventions—fitting them into a school-wide positive behavioral support system.
