WS29: Practical Knowledge about Auditory Processing Disorders Psychologists Need to Know

The workshop will discuss what auditory processing disorders (APD) are and how they affect children from preschool through high school. School psychologists will walk away with an understanding of the differences between APD and language processing difficulties. Similarities and differences between attention deficit disorders or executive functioning and APD will be discussed along with APD and children in special populations: ASD, intellectual disabilities, and emotional disorders. Various interventions and accommodations that can be provided in the school setting will be presented.
