PA114: Examining Parental Perceptions of Body Weight in Children

Description:

Results of a cross-sectional research study (N = 277) examining parental perceptions of body weight in children ages 5–13 years will be presented. The presenter will underscore both demographic and nondemographic variables associated with parental-perception accuracy of children's weight status. Session attendees will learn characteristics of parent–child dyads that place families at risk for perpetuating unhealthy lifestyles.
