PREPaRE School Crisis Prevention and Intervention Curriculum: Training of Trainers

Open to individuals who have completed the corresponding core workshops, PREPaRE Workshops 1 and 2.

Workshops provide participants with the information and practice needed to become NASP PREPaRE workshop trainers. PREPaRE trainers have the ability and receive the materials necessary to run independent workshops.

Monday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Workshop 1 Training of Trainers (ToT 1) Crisis Prevention and Preparedness: The Comprehensive School Crisis Team

This 4-hour session is designed to provide workshop participants with the information and practice needed to become a NASP PREPaRE “Crisis Prevention and Preparedness” workshop trainer. Included in this session will be a review of the logistics of workshop presentation and specific guidance on how to present the workshop. Participants will receive the information needed to independently offer this session. All participants will receive workshop presentation materials and a certificate of completion. Workshop 1 participants who want to attend the 2009 Summer Conference must register for the conference as well. Prerequisite: Completion of PREPaRE Workshop 1

Monday, 1:00–5:00 p.m. (Part I), Tuesday, 1:30-5:30 p.m. (Part II), and Wednesday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Part III)

Workshop 2 Training of Trainers (ToT 2) Crisis Intervention and Recovery: The Roles of School-Based Mental Health Professionals

This 12-hour session is designed to provide workshop participants with the information and practice needed to become a NASP PREPaRE “Crisis Intervention and Recovery” workshop trainer. Included in this session will be a review of the logistics of workshop presentation and specific guidance on how to present the workshop. Participants will receive the information needed to independently offer this session. All participants will receive workshop presentation materials and a certificate of completion. Workshop 2 participants are invited to attend the 2009 Summer Conference general sessions on Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon. Prerequisite: Completion of PREPaRE Workshop 2
