Hotel Update for NASP Convention Attendees - February 2007
Due to the unprecedented response and excitement generated by the NASP Convention in New York City, hotel rooms at the discounted rates are selling quickly. The Hilton and Sheraton are currently sold out at the original convention rates and the new rates for a small number of rooms still available are listed below. We encourage NASP attendees to check back periodically at the Hilton and Sheraton New York (see information below) as there are changes and cancellations daily. Attention Student Members - the student block at both the Hilton and Sheraton hotels are sold out! In the meantime, for those of you who aren't able to hotel it for one reason or another, go to hostels.com and follow the links to New York City. Since you will have many choices, here are some rules of thumb: stay within Manhattan (ie:
the outer boroughs of Brooklyn and the Bronx may be too far away), try to
avoid addresses above 103rd St, and check the ratings next to each listing;
anything above 70% should be more than satisfactory. Though none of the
listings are in walking distance of the convention hotels, public
transportation (buses or subways) will get you there in less than a half
hour.
General Information
The 2007 NASP Convention will be split between two luxurious hotels, the Hilton
New York and the Sheraton New York, located directly across the street. The
Hilton will host Registration, the Opening General Session, the Exhibit Hall,
Cyber Café, and reviewed presentations (papers, posters, symposia and
mini-skills) and special sessions. Paid workshops, meetings, and Welcome Reception
will be held at the Sheraton New York. The overflow hotels will provide sleeping rooms only.
Deposits, Confirmations, and Cancellations
All reservations must be accompanied by a credit card guarantee based on the
rate for one night plus applicable taxes and resort fees. This credit card
deposit will serve to confirm your reservation and, upon check-in, will be
applied to the first night of your stay. Deposits may be made via major credit
card, check, or money order; purchase orders will not be accepted. Both hotels
will send or fax written confirmations of your reservations (if you request
via phone when you make your reservation) or e-mail if you reserve your room
using their online services from our website. Please note that deposits for
canceled reservations will be refunded only if the hotel receives notification
of the cancellation at least 72 hours prior to the date of expected arrival;
deposits for cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance will be forfeited.
