2011 GW/NASP Public Policy Institute
5-Day Advanced Training for GW Credit,
July 6-8 and July 11-12, 2011
In addition to all of the offerings included in the 3-day training, 5-day training participants will take a more comprehensive look at how educational policy helps to shape positive school climates and cultures and more about how schools can best respond to the unique learning needs of vulnerable student populations.
Participants will be exposed to programs and practices that assess student risk for school failure, and promote school safety, social–emotional learning, and student success. Participants will work in teams to conduct a “case analysis” that examines how system policies and practices can address challenges and opportunities to promoting student mental health and wellness. This training may only be taken for GWU graduate semester credit (1 or 3 credits option) and includes all materials (handouts and a CD-ROM of selected materials), a networking reception, selected meals, and $10 Metro ticket to enable transportation to/from Capitol Hill.
Cost: For participants desiring graduate credit, you may enroll in 1 or 3 credits at $1,175 per credit hour + student fees
