Salaries in School Psychology
According to the most recent membership survey conducted by the NASP Research Committee, the mean salary of full-time, school-based practitioners with 180-day contracts in the 2009-10 school year was $64,168 (Castillo, Curtis, & Gelley, 2012). For practitioners with 200-day contracts, the mean was $71,320. For university faculty, it was $77,801. Regional differences in salaries, per diem rates, and more can be seen in these slides. Although mean salaries by region are presented, it is important to keep in mind the possibility that there is significant variability in salaries by state, school district, and so on. And it is important to note that these figures are for NASP members only. It is unknown how the means for the entire profession may differ.
