Ways for Trainers to Encourage Student Involvement in NASP

  1. Direct students to the resources available on the NASP website,
  2. Consider using NASP publications when feasible in your course reading lists,
  3. Encourage students to submit presentation proposals for the NASP convention,
  4. Promote student authorship or coauthorship in the Communiqué,
  5. Engage students in promoting the profession during School Psychology Week and throughout the year
  6. Suggest that students attend the Student Town Hall at the NASP Convention,
  7. Give students extra credit in appropriate courses (especially ones early in their training) for association membership and active involvement,
  8. Make sure that you have an active student representative to NASP from your program, and
  9. Let students know how much NASP values their participation and yours!
