Ways for Trainers to Encourage Student Involvement in NASP
- Direct
students to the resources available on the NASP website,
- Consider
using NASP publications when feasible in your course reading
lists,
- Encourage
students to submit presentation proposals for the NASP convention,
- Promote student authorship or coauthorship in the Communiqué,
- Engage
students in promoting the profession during School Psychology Week and
throughout the year
- Suggest
that students attend the
Student
Town Hall at the NASP Convention,
- Give
students extra credit in appropriate courses (especially ones early in their
training) for association membership and active involvement,
- Make
sure that you have an active student representative to NASP from your
program, and
- Let
students know how much NASP values their participation and yours!
