Graduate Student and Early Career Activities
We invite you to be among the more than 2,000 school psychology graduate students, interns, and new professionals who attend the convention annually. You may find it difficult to pick among the hundreds of convention sessions, but there are several offerings you definitely don’t want to miss, including:
- The Student Town Hall. Get your convention experience off to a great start with this chance to meet your peers and NASP leaders.
- Student Development Panel Presentations. Attend these specially developed sessions for students and early career professionals.
- Diversity Dialogue for Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals From Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds. An open discussion for students, early career practitioners, and trainers. Sponsored by the NASP Multicultural Affairs Committee.
- The Professional in Transition: Getting and Keeping Your First Job as a School Psychologist [SE02]. (sponsored by Sopris West Educational Services, A Cambium Learning Company) Three-hour educational session followed by a reception with Convention Career Service employers. Preregistration and $15 fee required.
- NASP Convention Career Service. Gain a competitive edge by meeting face-to-face with potential employers.
- Student and Early Career Mentoring Program. Sign up online before the convention to be matched with a mentor to get answers to your questions about the profession and your career. Information and online registration will be available on this website at www.nasponline.org/students/mentorintro.aspx.
- The Student Outing. Enjoy a fun night out during the convention and meet fellow graduate students from across the nation on Friday night. Registration required.
